Dear Brother Knights: Thanks to Bro. Pete Lenares, our council website www.kofc50.com has been reorganized and is up and running. All of our monthly newsletters will be posted on this site going forward. I want to thank Pete for all of his hard work updating and maintaining our web site. I will be mailing newsletters out in November and December. The January newsletter will only be available on the website and at the council.

As we enter the holiday season I would like to wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas. We have a lot of activities planned the next several weeks. I realize this is a busy season for all but I hope you will be able to take time to add enjoyment to your holidays by attending some of our upcoming events. I also hope you will plan on attending our next monthly meeting which will be held on Tuesday, December 4th.

CAN YOU HELP?
Our council is in need of a Membership Director and a Tootsie Roll chairman for next year’s drive. Bro. Herman Roy has done an admirable job filling these two positions for the past several years. If you are interested in serving your council in one of these roles, please let me know.

The Children’s Christmas Party is scheduled for Sunday, December 2nd at 1:00PM. If you are interested in attending, you must sign up at the council and bring a wrapped gift valued at $5-$10 for each child you are bringing. Please indicate the name and age of the child on the gift to assist Santa. Only sign up for this event if you will actually attend. It is important for us to have an accurate count for this function as we will be serving pizza to our guests. Thanks.

Knight Before Christmas Party – The 2nd annual Knight Before Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are available at the council for $14.92 per person. Ticket price includes DJ and great food prepared by Mary Tiroletto and Erika Schnaars. We will also have a small raffle. Once again, we will also be collecting canned goods at this event to support the Enfield Food Shelf. Last year we donated over 500lbs. of food. If you bring a donation you will receive additional tickets when you purchase raffle tickets.

Christmas Raffle – I have included 10 raffle tickets in the newsletter. As you know, we always have a great Christmas raffle every year and this year is no exception. If you would like to participate in the raffle, tickets are $1 each. Please return your tickets with your name and phone number on the back with a check made payable to Knights of Columbus Council #50. Mail tickets and check to Knights of Columbus #50, P.O. Box 193, Enfield, CT 06083. Additional tickets can also be purchased at the council. The drawing will be held December 22nd. All tickets must be received by Thursday, December 20th. Thanks you for your support!!

Casino Trip – Our annual casino trip to Mohegan Sun will be held on Saturday December 29th. Bus leaves at 7:30 AM. Tickets can be purchased at the council.

Adopt a Family – Once again, I am proud to announce that Council #50 will be adopting a family in conjunction with the Network Against Domestic Abuse’s holiday program. We will purchase gifts and make Christmas special for children of a local family victimized by domestic abuse.

As you can see, we have a lot going on. I hope to see you over the next few weeks to ring in the holidays. We have more events planned for the new year which I will reference in next month’s newsletter. As always, thank you for your continued support of our council.
